iScan - Police and Fire Scanner App Reviews

Great app and developer provides immaculate level of support. My county wasn’t listed so I emailed the developer and it was added within HOURS!!! Always willing to pay for this level of support and service! Will be keeping an eye on this developer for more great products and you should too!! Keep up the great work!

The biggest hit against this app is youre not able to maximize iScan or adjust the app size. There is also no way to edit and your custom feeds once you enter them. Dispite some minor shortcomings it’s a easy and clean app to us.

As already said, it does what it claims and responses are swift. Granted, perhaps not the most complex app, however exemplary customer service! How we all wish it would be done.

After download on 3/5 I found that the area that I wanted to listen to was not on the list for my state. One e-mail was all it took to take care of the problem. Thank you beansbytes

I purchased the I Scan app, noticed that my home town police and sheriff were not listed, asked for them to be added, received a response informing me that they had added those frequencies at my request, and I am now enjoying listening to my hometown coverage, ALL within a period of less than 24 hours. These people have awesome customer service!

Before installing iScan, i read the many postive reveiws that it has received. I was especially impressed with one that stated that they couldn’t find their feed. They remarked that Bean’s Bytes got right on it! I have to agree with them! The customer service is outstanding, fast and courteous! They are an asset to the “invisible face” of the internet world! They Care!

Works great, and I requested that different frequencies be added—I had a response by the next day!!

The design is a bit plain, but it works very well. My county wasn’t covered and an email to support was answered the next day with the news that my county and city had been added.

It didn’t have my city and requested they add it, less then 24 hours later it was on there. How can you beat that? I understand they will always try to add you if there’s a stream. If you want a scanner app, this one can’t be beat. I also understand it’s a young guy in college that wrote it so supporting this goes a long way.

If you do not see a town listed, click the request feeds button in the preferences menu and follow the example. I did this and within minutes I received an email from the developer telling me that my request has been fulfilled! Sure enough, my requested town now appeared in the list.

Great set of updates for an already great app. The new design and functions are very cool. Excellent customer service, too. Added multiple cities within one day of request. Keep up the good work!

This works fine. Genesee County New York upgraded their system and this should be back online now. Please update the codes.

I used to have a handheld scanner a very long time ago and thought the idea of being able to listen to frequency feeds simply on my computer would be fun again. After purchasing the app, I was disappointed to learn my local area was not listed in the default list of feeds available to listen to. This was the reason most of the bad reviews were for but after writing and asking the developer if they could include my local feeds, he promptly responded and did just that. Because of this I would highly recommend it and to all those who rated it poorly, every single entire available feed would clutter the whole experience and many are just not needed unless you have a local interest, so just write and ask for your interested feeds to be included. Thank you again for adding my local area which has made the experience all the more fun. Takes me back to the time I had a handheld running in my background 24/7.

Great App, and if for some reason it is not on the list, just e-mail this guy. This dude is has the best customer service Ive dealt with since,...well ever. He is making this better everyday and it is much better. I would not blink about paying for this. Like I said, whatever channel you want....holmes, he will get it for you in less than 24 hrs. Hell, the three areas I asked for he had up in less than an hour and that was on a freaking Saturday. Man, whatever this guy does he will do well, and this seems like his baby and he gonna take care of it everyday. In this day and age, an absolute complete rarity (in the good way) PS I went back and read all the one star ratings and those are all from 2011. This app was like .99 and just starting. Goodness sakes, how do you think Smalll Businesses stand up, regardless...99 cents going to put you out.

As a newspaper reporter who has to take shifts each week listening to the fire/police scanner, I can say without a doubt that this is a top-notch app sold at a fair price. The only problem I’m having with the current version is the inability to save favorites. It’s a minor issue for me because I just go back over to my state and click the station I need. I hope it gets fixed in the next version. If not, I’ll live with it and continue to use the app as always.

I rated this lower before because favorites did not save, but that was fixed a week or so after i reported it and the developer was already aware and working on it. It works great! Well worth it.

Great app. However, the customer service is something that ever business could learn from. I downloaded the app at 8 am. At 8:11, I sent an email to the developer to add my local fire department. At 8:33 I received an email informing me that it has been added:) When is the last time you got a quick response like that from anyone???? I’ve enjoyed listening to scanners on my tablet and phone, but I don’t like running my battery down. This allows me to run it in the background while I work from my iMac. I highly recommend this app.
